Methods and theory a la UK

This book was written in the mid-90s but is timeless in its presentation of the subject matter from an English perspective. The various authors do not try to bowl us over with overly technical jargon - concepts are explained clearly. This is a great addition to my methodological library!

It's ok.

If you are buying this book it is probably because you have to as it has been assigned as a text book for a course you are taking.

First of all, chapter 9 on epistemology and ontology is extremely poorly written. Too much crammed in to one chapter means they lack explanatory language and you learn very little. Also why is a chapter on ontology and epistemology chapter 9? You'd think it would be at the beginning of the book.

Secondly - the amount of spelling and grammatical errors is embarrassing. It is hard to take a book on political science seriously when all I see are amateur spelling and grammatical inconsistencies. Very poor!

Other than that, ok book. Have read better on this subject.

Could have been much hotter

This is one of the better cuckqueen stories I've read but still could have been much better. Using how much the husband wants the cuckcake as a more subtle but oh so powerful form of humiliation is far superior to over the top humiliations, violence, etc. Also, keeping the cuckqueen straddling the line of jealousy and lust is intense and very erotic.

Will touch your heart, make you think, and inspire you to be your best

I love all of Jon's books but this one is particularly special for several reasons. First it is a true story about an amazing young man whose example continues to influence others more than ten years after his death. If you can read this without being emotionally touched you might want to check your pulse.

Second, while there are thousands of books with strategies to be a leader there are far fewer on how to lead by being a follower and by being a servant. What so inspired me about George's story was the way he became a leader without trying to be a leader.

And third, the book is filled with lots of great ideas for being a better teammate and a better friend - and a better person.

Touching Story of Someone Who Made a Difference in Such a Short Time

Having read all of Jon Gordon's other books, picking this one up was a no brainer. Very quickly I realized that this book was very different from the others. After reading this book you can add my life to the number of people that George has touched and made better. I strongly recommend this book for anyone that wants more from life. In reading this book it has cemented the realization that to get more from life I have to be and give more. Thank you George!

Highly recommend!

My husband who coaches 2 sports, one university team and one a more individualized sport had me get a couple copies for his team to pass around and another for our son who is a high level ski racer. It is very highly recommended and well worth purchasing and reading. Oh, my husband doesn't read books, he will devour articles that interest him but got through college without completing any books other than The Little Prince I think, he finished this in a bus ride (granted a long bus ride) with his team so it's a fairly quick, full read.

Misleading - loose leaf not paperback!!!

It is important to know that this book is LOOSE-LEAF, not paperback. The book doesn't even come with a binder. I have had loose-leaf before and the pages eventually all rip out. It is really a pain. Also, previous loose-leaf code books I have ordered come with an IBC binder. Disappointing!

Has the CD version been pirated?

This is for the CD version.

The CD is just a scan of the loose-leaf book. It's not searchable as it's just images. What's the point in getting something like this on a CD if the contents aren't searchable?

I'm actually wondering if this CD has been pirated. You'd think that if this was done with the organization's permission that they'd require certain specs for the electronic version to adhere to. It should be simple enough for them to convert their original files to PDF and not have to revert to printing it then scanning it.

A Hot Menage Story

Lia, as we saw in the first novel, certainly hasn’t had the best of luck since the world changed. Very few days into it her world changed forever (again), and if it weren’t for Ro stumbling across her in dire need, she probably wouldn’t be here today. But Lia is strong and resilient, and she hasn’t let the pieces of herself get lost. It’s taken months, but she’s finally glued them all back together, and she is far more than ready to get her old self back. And her old self certainly wouldn’t hold back about wanting who she wants. And if the only two men who don’t make her feel uneasy aren’t going to take the first step…well, Lia is going to have to change that.

Cam has been watching Lia since the day he rescued her, and holding back in order to give her time to heal. But his best friend and former Marine, Travis, aren’t letting him do it in his own time anymore. No, Travis wants her too. And he isn’t about to lose his chance. Travis has an idea though, as he knows and sees how a triad can work watching Ro, Graham, and Zach…he’ll just have to be brave enough to fight for it.

I loved Lia, and her go-get-em nature. She was timid and hesitant, but she really pulled from deep within herself to realize that the world is different now, and who knows how long the rug will be under their feet, so she was going to go after what she wanted. And sweet Cam, with his healing nature gently leading her to that place, and Travis finally completing everything. You could really sense their hesitancy, need, and love for each other. I only wished we could have been in their heads more, and seen the depth of what Lia fought through personally. Meghan March always does such a great job writing a story that’s worth reading, and I can’t wait for more in this series (I hope Erica is next!).

Stories about a dystopian or apocalyptic world are not normally ones that I would gravitate to. But when I discovered this author on Facebook and found I really liked her open and funny style, I wanted to see what she had to offer. So when I saw Flash Bang and Hard Charger on NetGalley it was an easy choice to step out of my normal reading genre and I’m glad I did.

I like that more time was spent on developing the story of the couples and not focusing on the redundant details of what an apocalypse would be like for modern society. I loved the heat and the connection between these 2 sets of characters too! I could feel the chemistry coming from the pages. To me that’s the sign of a great story and author!

Flash Bang centers around Rowan, Graham and Zach and how she stumbles upon Castle Creek Whitetail Ranch as she attempts to make it to her fathers property following a life-altering EMP, electromagnetic pulse. There’s an immediate attraction between our strong, determined and stubborn heroine and the 2 leading men. But faced with the knowledge that all she sacrificed and worked for in her career was for nothing she will not let her father down again and feels she must make it home ASAP.

Hard Charger centers around Lia, Cam and Travis and it answers the cliffy that was at the end of book 1 that had my stomach in knots! I feel like the topic of Lia’s treatment at the hands of her captors and the PTSD that she dealt with following her rescue was written with care and respect for such a deep subject matter. Since we saw a lot of these characters in the first book, the second book being a novella and a lot shorter was okay to me. It still felt like a complete read.

4 solid stars on both of these books! I am hooked! There are many characters left that deserve their own story and cannot wait to see what comes in this series!

I liked the update on the characters. Fast read. Way to short to be called book 2. This is what you usually read at the end of a book to get excited for the new book and not have to pay for it. I hope there is a new book in the process. I really like all the characters and style of writing.
