Beautiful artbook by a great artist

[[VIDEOID:mo2AJEH6GRC1ZAR]]This is Tony's artwork based on the Shining Wind Game. It's an absolutely stunning artbook and is by one of my favorite artist of all time. If you are a fan of anime figures you will find the images here that a few of them have been based on such as the two ladies on the cover. The art consist of pretty ladies, handsome men and other creatures. The art is brightly colored and printed on nice thick paper. The binding of the book appears to be sound. I like this book alot and would recommend it.

Tony Taka at some of his finest

If you're a fan of Tony Taka, this book is without a doubt worth adding to your collection. But what about the folks out there who have absolutely no idea who Tony Taka is? The games on display here are limited to Shining Tears (primarily for the full page images) and Shining Wind. Shining Wind was never released here, so the only real attachment someone could have to the characters would be through Shining Tears, which had a largely negative reception on the PS2 because of loading times and repetition.

Ultimately, regardless of your familiarity with the artist or the games, Tony Taka is an artist known for having a rather unique style among his contemporaries in Japan. A quick Google search for Tony Taka will quickly reveal whether this style may appeal to you or not and should be the deciding factor as to whether this would be something you would be interested in purchasing. I did not find the brief interviews to be all that informative, but the drawings (the point of the book) were quite pleasing. As an added bonus, the cover is indicative of how risque the works get - this is something that would not have to be hidden in case a person unfamiliar with the content swings by. As mentioned in other reviews, the book quality is pretty good for being softcover. I would have preferred hardcover just for the additional longevity because I can see revisiting this rather frequently, but this is about as sturdy as I can imagine an over-sized softcover book being.

I would say Tony's Artworks from Shining World is well worth buying under any circumstance, but then Tony Taka has my second favorite art style. Udon has done a serviceable job in bringing this book out here.

A must have for a TONY TAKA FAN! High quility at a LOW price!

This is a artbook focused on the Shining world series. I don't play the game associated with the series, but I enjoy admiring the artwork.

The artbook I received is paperback, not Turtleback and not hardback. Nevertheless, it is absolutely gorgeous!

The front cover of the book is super glossy. The feathers on the front cover are actually made of "felt" or some velvety material, i'm not lying! If you rub your finger across it, its like touching artificial feathers on the book. :D

The second page (just right behind the front cover) has a translucent graph paper that highlights another background picture behind it. It gives the impression of seeing an image behind curtains illuminated with light in the background. Some really great effects there.

Got it for roughly ~$26 at the time of this review,
I received the English version. If you were to buy this overseas (I think its in japanese), but the price is like $40 or more and you have to pay high shipping fees, unless you go by SAL (free usually) but that is not trackable and uninsured.

A great Addition to any Tony Taka collection.

Good idea that misses the mark

On the positive side: Great title that gives specific information to intended audience. Attractive cover. Activities are preceded by skills, time, level, materials required--all reader-friendly things.

On the negative side: Although there is a table of contents, the book has NO PAGE NUMBERS! This is not reader-friendly at all! To go to the trouble of creating a nice-looking book with useful information, it would have made sense to fix these small--BUT VERY IMPORTANT--details. This book needs professional editing--not only for formatting but for concision.

I am disappointed to find that more and more people with good information to share are putting out inferior products.

I've only glanced through this book so far, which is actually quite difficult because there are NO PAGE NUMBERS printed on the pages. There are some excellent sections and ideas, but they are hard to find! It's rather frustrating. The table of contents is off too - if you have the patience to count the pages towards the spot you're looking for. Ooopsies?

Save your money, these activities are available online for FREE!!

Is this book really needed? Lots of good activities, some of them have been around since the ark, but that doesn't matter if they work. My main problem with this book is that all of the activities can be found for free on the web, why waste money buying this book which has several pages of filler at the start? I don't believe people should make money from sharing educational best practices, it might have been better for the writer to offer this as a free PDF on her website and accepted donations, instead of selling ideas that are available for free online.

Seems very good to me. Well-laid out and comprehensive (but not too comprehensive or overwhelming, I mean it's not an encyclopedia but a as comprehensive as it should be). Nice maps. The side trip to Siem Reap is a nice touch. I have read through guide thoroughly twice in preparation for our upcoming June trip to Vietnam. I will see if my opinion is the same after our trip..

Nice architecture patterns implementation, issues with Angular code

Interesting implementation of architecture patterns on the application.

Starting with chapter 4, had problems with basic angular code, controller specifically. Had to investigate and make changes to the code in order to make it to work:

Too many missing parts

The book starts as "step by step" manual.
There are a lot of screenshots with "dummy" things like how to create a project in Visual Studio, how to add a class, etc.
However (at least in the Kindle format) there are a lot of missing things, for example in Chapter 2 there is neither code nor explanation about some classes that the author uses as RepositoryProvider and RepositoryFactories. In Chapter 3 there is not explanation how to create the database.
You have to download the code of the book to search all the missing parts.
It's boring "copy & paste" code without explanation.

As a .Net developer I find this book very helpful in my day to day task at work and also gives me an edge on my colleagues. This book targets on the advance topics of MVC, AngularJS, WebApi, etc. But the best part is the altogether new tools like Jasmine, QUnit, Tostr, and how to use them efficiently.

I think Chris has not read the "Who should take this book" page and has made a vague comment; as this book doesn't target starters. Also, the main intent of the book is to build SPA and the author has explained the same with a variety of new technologies, which is awesome.

Very useful, but not for beginners.

This is not a How-To manual. This book outlines many methods of statistical analysis, for univariate, bivariate and multivariate datasets. It discusses what the various analyses are useful for in paleontology studies and gives some case studies. The buyer needs some knowledge of statistics, or needs to use other sources of information if basic knowledge is required. Its a very useful book and gives links to a free statistical software package, PAST. Again, this software needs some previous knowledge of statistics to be used.
There are some minor errors, I noted a few figures were incorrectly numbered in the text.

This book is well organized, very easy to understand. I think it can be used as introductory textbook for senior undergraduate student who is interested in evolution and paleontology.

It would be better if the authors can include more information about diversity change, life-and-death mole as well as comparative phylogenetic analysis etc.

Exactly What You Would Expect

I purchased two of these. One for me and one for my dad, as we are both writers. I love the idea of this book to continue writing and explore deep thoughts we don't normally think about. I do feel that some of the prompts could elaborate more. A lot of these prompts I feel like I could find on a blog or a google search and put together my own soul book. But this book does the work for you. I enjoy sitting down with it and writing for the day.
