I recommend using at least three study guides when preparing for ...

I opted to use this book instead of sitting through and paying the premium for the class on how to pass the boards, and I passed on my first try. The first chapter of the book is all about strategies, which I stayed true to when taking the exam. The other chapters are all condensed "important material" needed to be successful when taking the boards. Not going to lie the test at the end of the book was hard and I got frustrated thinking, there is no way I will be asked these questions but low and behold I found at least half a dozen duplicates on the boards. I recommend using at least three study guides when preparing for the boards, so your brain can be ready for all the different styles of questions that will be thrown at you. Highlights of this book were the simplicity and heavy focus on drugs, ulcers, and burns.

This book is garbage and a complete POS

This book is garbage and a complete POS. I am sorry for the harsh words, but any "professional" book with SO MANY TYPOS isn't worth the money and can't be trusted. I don't even know where to begin with the crap in this book. It felt like my 9yr old daughter typed it out and then had her classmates proofread it, but I think even her classmates would catch things like "handS" . I think I found 5 typos in the first 15 questions. Words spelled incorrectly, improper use of capitalization, etc. was so disgusted at it, I returned it right away!
DO NOT BUY. There are so many other books to buy if you want sample questions/study material. Therapy ED, Scorebuilders, Saunders, etc..

Overall, this study guide is helpful. I enjoyed the test taking tips and information about test taking anxiety as well as instructions for testing process. It could use a bit more thorough explanations in some areas, such as modalities. I would also benefit from another practice exam.
